Market Manager - Taupo
The Hamilton & Cambridge Farmers’ Markets are looking for a passionate, organised, and community-minded Market Manager to lead the smooth operation of our vibrant weekend markets. This is a unique opportunity to be at the centre of Waikato’s local food movement, working with passionate growers, artisans, and loyal customers who value sustainability and fresh, local produce.
In this flexible part-time role (approx. 20–25 hours per week), you’ll be responsible for the planning and on-the-ground management of two iconic weekly events: the Cambridge Market on Saturdays and the Hamilton Market on Sundays. You’ll coordinate with stallholders, staff, the public, and the market committee, ensuring everything runs smoothly—from site setup and staffing to compliance, communication, and promotion.
We’re looking for someone who is a great communicator, can think on their feet, and isn’t afraid to get stuck in (yes, there’s a bit of lifting and early starts involved!). In return, you’ll have the autonomy to shape your schedule during the week around market prep, admin, and promotional activities like social media and newsletters.It's a perfect fit for someone who enjoys flexible, self-directed work and making a real impact in the local community.
What You’ll Bring:- Strong organisational and time-management skills

- Computer savvy (Excel, email, social media)
- Financial nous and cash handling skills
- A can-do attitude and ability to work independently
- A full NZ driver’s license
- Bonus: experience in market environments or community events
