Maintenance Technician
We are part of Fairview Aluminium Windows and Doors, a leading brand in the aluminium window and door manufacturing and installation industry. Based in Auckland, we provide high-quality, customised services across Auckland, Waikato, and the Bay of Plenty regions.
We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be mainly responsible for developing maintenance planning strategies, as well as scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the maintenance of all workshop machines and equipment.You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of machinery used in the production of aluminium doors and windows. Responsibilities include conducting routine checks, troubleshooting issues, coordinating with repair services, and minimising downtime in our manufacturing process.
Your duties will include:
- Monitor and inspect machinery to ensure proper functioning and efficiency.
- Ensure all machines are operating in accordance with safety standards and ensure all machine compliance requirements are maintained and up to date.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, recording, and assessments.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and machine performance.
- Ensure the machines (internal and external) and equipment are kept clean and tidy
- Organize the maintenance of various machines and equipment, identify any malfunctions or abnormalities in machines including fault diagnosis and troubleshooting, and take immediate action.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment.
- Coordinate with external technicians or service providers for major repairs.
- Carry out equipment maintenance according to production requirements to reduce failure rates, minimize machine downtime, and ensure equipment remains in good working condition.
- Organize training for equipment operators to ensure proper and safe equipment usage.
- Organize the installation and commissioning of equipment, ensure a smooth procurement process,
- Assist in the preparation of repair and maintenance budgets as required.
- Carry out procurement and assembly of equipment and spare parts, maintain stock of spare parts for repairs, ensure supplies and spare parts are at adequate levels and order as necessary.
- Suggest improvements to maintenance procedures and machine efficiency.
- Maintain effective relationships with team leaders to ensure problems are resolved quickly and efficiently, promoting a team-oriented approach to maintenance.
- Complete any other ad hoc duties assigned by the manager from time to time.
Requirement for this role:
- A relevant tertiary qualification at NZQF Level 5 or higher, or at least three years of relevant work experience
- Strong skills in planning and execution
- Clean police record
- Drug free
Other Details of the role:
- Work location: Auckland
- Hourly rate: $30 to $35, negotiable based on your qualifications, skills and work experience.
- Standard hours: 40 per week
- Minimum hours: 30 per week
- This is full-time and permanent position
