Title: Construction Manager

KBR is looking for aConstruction Manager, to coordinate certain portions of the administration of the project such as cost control, document control, contract changes, shop drawings, etc. You may be responsible for certain subcontractors or parts of a large project and can perform some basic project management functions.

On a daily basis, you will monitor the physical construction of the project through daily coordination of all field activities, subcontractor direction, and code/specification compliance.

This position is located as a client site in Marlborough, MA. No per diem will be offered.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibilities include technical input for schedule creation, subcontracting strategy, subcontractor scopes of work, quality of construction, schedule adherence, budget containment, safety, selection of methods, systems, and techniques of construction, and labor cost control through daily attention to unit costs and adjustments in crew size or composition, etc.
  • Responsible for the daily field construction of multiple minor projects (<$500K) in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company and client.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • 7+ years' experience within industrial plants
  • Thorough knowledge of construction and safety activities as they relate to industrial plant construction, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of technical vocabularies and terminology common to construction industry.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets and applications
  • Ability to develop and analyze information for studies and reports.
  • Demonstrated skills in data reporting and entry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, listening and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to maintain positive relationship through daily communication with the client
  • This position is located on a working plant site. Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities:

Extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, climbing stairs, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Walking distances can be up to 200 meters.

Stand or sit for periods of up to 4 hours
Some lifting may be required.
Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
