About the role:

Reporting to Performance and Relationship Manager, we are currently seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the operations in our LPG division based in Hautapu. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage drivers, optimise transport schedules for maximum efficiency, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

Key Responsibilites:
Driver Management:
  • Lead and motivate a team of drivers and manage all aspects of the drivers’ daily schedules including leave requests, potential issues, fleet availability, and compliance of policies to ensure legislative and company requirements are met.
Journey/Incident Management:
  • Monitor, maintain, analyse GPS data and telematics to optimise fleet and driver utilisation and improve solutions to the customer. You will be the first point of contact for the drivers for any issues/incidents during the journey.
Health, Safety and Compliance:
  • Pro-actively work with the Health and Safety Team and ensure robust systems are in place and followed by your team to embed best practices within the business and minimise risks.
Fleet Management:
  • Effectively work with the scheduling team to plan and manage maintenance across all fleet to ensure compliance with transport regulations.
Stakeholder management:
  • Internal Stakeholders: Effectively communicate the payroll team for approving hours, People & Culture team for recruitment, performance issues etc.
  • External Stakeholders: Effective communication with the customer to ensure all operational KPIs are met and develop strong customer relationships.

For this role, you will:

  • Have minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial/supervisory role preferably with a transport background. Exposure to the DG world is an advantage.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel/Word/Powerpoint)
  • Prior scheduling experience
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and leadership qualities.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
