Financial Controller

**About the role - Mo te turanga**
As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects critical to the success and stability of the organization. This includes financial statements preparation, month-end processes, compliance with financial and tax regulations, banking and treasury functions, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.You will focus on optimizing workflow, implementing system improvements, and minimizing financial risk.
Key responsibilities include:
**Financial Management**:
- Oversee board and management reporting.
- Lead the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Manage statutory reporting and annual audit processes.
- Handle bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Champion budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Oversee month-end processes and compliance tasks.
**Treasury Management**:
- Conduct cash flow forecasting and analysis.
- Prepare weekly Borrowing Base Reports.
- Manage loans and convertible notes.
- Liaise with the Group Treasury team in Australia.
**AP/AR Management**:
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control.
**Payroll Management**:
- Oversee the payroll function with support from the payroll team.
**General Management**:
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Establish strong relationships with external stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment.

We are looking for a driven individual with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a high level of attention to detail.
Additionally, you will bring:
- Prior experience in the Transport & Logistics industry is highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in an accounting-related role.
- CA/CPA qualification.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Proven experience in Treasury and Balance Sheet management.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.
