Medical Laboratory Scientist - Evening Shift - Christchurch

- Registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council and a current Annual Practising Certificate is essential
We are seeking applications from a passionate and proactive Medical Laboratory Scientist to join us in this permanent full-time opportunity. Our Core Biochemistry section provides an essential 24-hour service to not only the hospital but the wider community.
Our primary focus is to provide the best service possible for the care of the patient.
This role requires you to work from 16:00 to 00:30, Mon - Fri.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality diagnostic testing
- The effective and efficient use of laboratory information systems to register patients, input data, and access results
- Ensuring the full repertoire of testing can be offered by following appropriate calibration, QC and maintenance procedures
- Carrying out troubleshooting of assays and automated platforms when required
- The development of your own professional development

Your skills will include:
- Self-motivation and discipline to work independently and a demonstrated ability to work to a high standard unsupervised
- The ability to prioritise and multitask as the situation demands
- The ability to work under pressure is essential
- Experience in biochemistry is advantageous
- You will be registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council, with a current Annual Practising Certificate (or eligibility to obtain)
