Trainee Communications Technician - Whangarei
The Top Energy Group operates throughout the Far North delivering geothermal electricity generation and electricity network operations. We are enabling Northland to contribute to the decarbonisation challenge by transforming the Top Energy Group into a technology-enabled energy company that generates and facilitates two-way energy flow between renewable energy generators and consumers.
We have a position available for a Trainee Communications Technician, to assist in implementing and maintaining the Network's wired, wireless and fibre communications infrastructure.
This position will report to the Technical Services Maintenance Supervisor and will be based at Puketona.
Key areas of focus will be to:
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the radio communication solutions in line with business requirements
- Assist in creating as built drawings for all communications infrastructure, keeping all drawings up to date and ensuring systems are maintained to an acceptable level of quality and reliability
- Assist in constructing and testing approved communication solutions, inspecting, testing and diagnosing faults and assembling or removing components
The successful candidate will be required to undertake formal training courses appropriate to the position.
