Our Regions puni is looking for a Kaitohu Matua, Himatanga | Senior Advisor, Investments. This role prepares assessments of proposals for investment for decision-making committees/individuals, monitors and audits approved contracts and supports more junior staff across the Investments group and regions.Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunityWith considerable stakeholder management skills, the Senior Advisor, as part of a small team liaises with kaitono (applicants) and our regional kaimahi to help deliver effective investments across a portfolio of investment funds.

These investments support Māori communities to achieve their aspirations. You will: Assess applications for investment from kaitono and identifying and mitigating potential risks. Mahi includes reviewing proposal assessments, approval channels, agreement development, and contract management Prepare and submit assessment to decision-making committees Liaise with kaitono and ensure due diligence is completed at each stage.
Monitor and audit the impact of investments and help write quarterly and monthly reports. Develop case studies that tell the story about the impact of our investments. Assist with writing responses to requests for information, including Official Information Act and Ministerial Statements of Satisfactory Progress.Please see here for information about recent Investment Recipients.
This is not a role that involves investing in financial markets.The likely appointment range is $104,056 to $115,617 based on skills and experience. The full grade for this role is $104,056 to $138,741 with a mid-point of $115,617.Mōu | About youInvestments kaimahi come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring passion for their mahi, teamwork and building relationships.
We are looking for kaitono who: Have excellent critical and numerical reasoning, writing and data analysis skills Bring experience working with and managing key stakeholder relationships. Have an excellent understanding of credit assessment and financial statements and can view the whole picture when it comes to reviewing proposals.
Can manage multiple pieces of work and guide junior staff through complex proposals. Have some experience of formal writing for memo's, briefings, executive summaries and Ministerial Advice. Are comfortable working in an environment where tikanga is observed and have confidence to kōrero with a range of Māori organisations, businesses and communities.
