Salary: NZD $27–$32 per hour (depending on experience)

We’re a well established Indian restaurant in the heart of Titirangi, now under new management and committed to delivering authentic regional flavours and outstanding hospitality. We’re seeking a skilled Assistant Manager to support our front of house team, maintain service excellence, and enhance guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily front of house operations, including reservations, seating, and guest flow
  • Lead, coach, and schedule front of house staff (servers, hosts, bar team) to ensure consistent, high quality service
  • Monitor guest feedback and address issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction and repeat business
  • Partner with the Head Chef on menu roll outs, specials, and events, ensuring smooth execution
  • Manage inventory of front of house supplies (glassware, linens, stationery) and coordinate timely reorders with suppliers
  • Administer the POS system: train staff, generate sales reports, and reconcile cash takings
  • Enforce health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations
  • Assist with financial tracking, including daily takings, labour costs, and budget adherence

Requirements
  • Minimum one year of supervisory or management experience in a restaurant setting, preferably with Indian cuisine
  • Strong understanding of Indian food culture and the ability to present dishes knowledgeably to guests
  • Proven leadership skills with a talent for motivating and developing a team
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem solving abilities
  • Proficiency in hospitality POS systems and basic accounting principles
  • NZ work rights and relevant hospitality certifications
