Healthcare Assistant (Level 4)
Edenvale Home & Hospital is a boutique 41-bed facility located in Mt Eden in Auckland, offering 24/7 dedicated care to our Rest Home, Hospital and Dementia Residents.
We seek a qualified and experienced Healthcare Assistant for a permanent role starting in March 2025. The position involves providing specialized care to residents with significant health needs and utilising advanced skills gained through a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4) qualification.
Tasks include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with complex personal care needs, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient well-being.
Suitable candidates:
Must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4) qualification or higher.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as health care assistant or in similar health care role.
Must be able to work shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays.
Must have reliable transport (there is free onsite parking.
Must have reasonable competence in English.
Must be fit and able for the role, which includes some lifting.
Ideal candidates:
Minimum of three years of relevant experience is preferred.
What we can offer:
- Permanent, full time role. Minimum 32 hours week on roster. Additional hours may be offered at times, up to 45 hours /week. All additional hours paid at the standard hourly rate.
- Wage rate will be between $28 and $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a penal rate of $4 per hour when working on weekends.
- Full orientation and paid on-boarding will be provided onsite for new team members.
Suitable applicants must have clean criminal record with no convictions for dishonesty or assault related matters. Candidates for the role may be required to complete credit, background and police vetting check.
