About the Role: In this dynamic and varied position, you’ll provide critical administrative support to the Board of Trustees, manage the Trust’s social media presence, coordinate exciting events, and handle the logistics of day-to-day operations.

From preparing communications, maintaining financial records, to ensuring smooth event coordination – you’ll be at the heart of ensuring everything runs smoothly for the Trust’s initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Communications: Preparing and sending emails, letters, agendas, and meeting minutes.
  • Financial Management: Handling invoicing, PAYE/GST returns, and working with the Board on investments.
  • Event Coordination: Organizing Board meetings, the AGM, seminars, field days, and other special events.
  • Social Media Management: Keeping our social channels active with relevant content and engaging with the community.
  • Liaison & Support: Acting as a point of contact between the Trust Chairman, coordinators, MPI On-Farm Support, and other stakeholders.
  • 0800 Phone holder: Be primary phone holder for the 0800 number.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Self-Reliant & Organized: Able to manage tasks and prioritize independently.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with office tools, internet, social media platforms, and basic graphic design.
  • Rural Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with rural life or agriculture is a plus!
  • Communication Skills: Strong writing skills for correspondence, minutes, and other written materials.
  • Financial & Organizational Skills: Capable of handling financial records, organizing events, and keeping accurate records.
Additional Information:
  • This role offers flexibility but may require additional hours during adverse events, with prior consultation with the Chair to assess scope and costs.
