You would assist in leading our amazing Checkout superstars with the daily operations of our busy store. This full-time position is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, confident and organised person who enjoys the challenges of leading a large and diverse team of people.
Key tasks include:- Keep the checkout department running efficiently, helping staff with transactions
- Ensure every customer gets quick and friendly service and receive quality goods
- Respond to customers' inquiries and handle any issues to find a solution
- Plan work schedules and assign staff to tasks to ensure the department runs smoothly
- Assist the Checkout Manager with interviewing, hiring, training and evaluating staff
- Keep track of inventory and make sure items are priced correctly
- Maintain high presentation standards at the checkout and ensure adherence to Food Safety and Health and Safety processes
- NZ Register Level 2 or 3 Qualification or at least one year of relevant supermarket experience.
- Passionate about providing excellent customer service
- Proven leadership and decision-making abilities
- Proven organisational and planning skills.
- Experience in staff rostering
- Interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- High level of integrity

- Solid computer skills including the ability to use spreadsheets
- Liquor Controller Qualification is required and General Manager's Certificate desirable.

This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the Checkout Manager. Remuneration will be between $28.00 and $32.00 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.
Location: Wanaka, Otago. We are an Immigration Accredited employer.
