About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one-to-one patient watches and other tasks as directed.
We have a permanent position working 0.7FTE - 56hrs a fortnight; rostered and rotating Monday to Sunday. Shift times are Morning Shift 0700-1530H, Afternoon Shift 1445-2315H and Night Shift 2245-0715H. Our team is focused on providing excellent quality care and we are committed to improving the experience of patients and their whanau.
About you
We are looking for people with a mature outlook, the ability to get on with a wide variety of people and excellent communication skills. They will also have the ability to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrate honesty and reliability, and use appropriate initiative.Experience within the health sector is preferred, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
Qualifications
Essential- Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
- NZQA level 3 qualification (or equivalent) *
- Home Carer Certificate (or equivalent)
- NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, if not previously obtained, is to be commenced once orientations have been attended.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
