- Drive and operate trucks to transport goods while strictly adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations regarding vehicle size, weight, routes, parking, and rest breaks.
- Assist with or oversee the loading process, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and remains in good condition during transit.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
- Keep accurate records of transported goods, verify invoices, and plan efficient delivery routes.
- Complete deliveries or pickups while maintaining logs of work/rest periods, kilometres driven, and necessary receipts for fuel and tolls.
- Utilize fuel-efficient driving techniques to help optimise business resources and reduce operational costs.
- Represent the company professionally, maintaining positive interactions with clients and the public.
- Report any mechanical issues, equipment failures, or accidents promptly to supervisors for timely resolution.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including keeping windows, windshields, and mirrors clean and ensuring the interior remains tidy and free of clutter.
Other Important Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant driving experience.
- Available to work on weekends and night shifts.
- Must have a valid heavy truck driver's license with clean driving record.
- Must pass drug test.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Self-motivated and a passionate individual.
