Office Manager role

Waitoki School is a small rural primary school (Year 0 – 8) with a big heart, located in North Auckland on the outskirts of Silverdale. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school community that nurtures adaptive, creative, curious, life-long learners who achieve their best through perseverance and collaboration.

An opportunity has arisen for a passionate and energetic Office Manager with a keen eye for detail to join our team and ensure the smooth running of our school.

Role purpose:
To effectively lead our school’s office and grounds team so that our students, staff, Board of Trustees, community and visitors receive a high-quality service.

To complete all administrative tasks to a high standard - Office Management, Finance & Payroll, Human Resources, Property and Health & Safety, Event Organisation, Reporting to the Waitoki School Board.

We are looking for someone who: Has a positive, can-do attitude and has no problem with getting stuck in wherever and whenever needed

Is able to juggle and prioritise many tasks with ease
Has excellent communication skills
Is self-motivated and enjoys autonomy in their role
Is a collaborative and friendly individual who will fit seamlessly in to our wonderful, cohesive team
Is professional, fair, and maintains confidentiality at all times

Is passionate about giving back to our community

The job-specific skills we are looking for are: School-based work experience

Excellent communication skills - oral and written
Accounting (preferably using Xero), preparing and monitoring budgets, and payroll administration
Experience in school-based systems such as Pourato, ENROL, Edpay and eTAP (or a similar Student Management System)
Confident ICT skills – ability to navigate Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Drive, Calendar) and Microsoft Apps (Word, Excel, Publisher)
Human Resources administration experience
People Leadership skills

Current First Aid knowledge and Drivers Licence

Days and hours of work: Full-time position during term time only. 40 hours per week during the school term (7:30am – 4pm daily, Monday to Friday) with some additional days during the term holidays as and when needed. Starting date to be negotiated.
