Te āheinga: The opportunity
As a Senior Researcher and Lecturer, you will lead and grow the Postgraduate/Research Development role to enhance Pacific research capacity, support postgraduate completions, teach research courses, undertake research and generate research funding.This role aligns with Unitec's goals to boost academic reputation, community engagement, and financial sustainability.
Your responsibilities include developing research ideas and teams, leading proposal writing, maintaining an active research portfolio, contributing to relevant committees, supporting postgraduate supervision, teaching and providing strategic leadership.

He kōrero mōu: About youYou'll have:
- An understanding or desire to learn te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Māori
- Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
- A commitment to contributing to the wider Te Pūkenga (or its next formation) network
- Advanced communication skills including academic and research writing expertise
- Strong research and academic networks across a range of fields, institutions and research contexts
- An active research and publication portfolio, with capability and passion to contribute towards growing Unitec's industry and community driven research eco-system
- Experience in applying for, securing and carrying out to completion externally funded research contracts.
- The ability to foster productive postgraduate co-supervision relationships with academics across the institution.
- A record of successful postgraduate research supervisions and a willingness to act as primary and / or co-supervisor of Master degree students.
- Teaching experience
