Building our frameworks from a Matauranga Māori basis is our focus to drive and support equity for Māori, which in turn will contribute to achieving our outcomes of reducing reoffending.Mō te tūnga | About the roleWe are looking for a motivated leader to assist in managing our primary health services located at Waikeria Prison, South of Te Awamutu.
The team consists of both clinical and non-clinical staff dealing with a broad range of general and mental health issues, respond to emergencies, consult with external health services, and undertake health education for this high health needs population.The new facility at Waikeria Prison includes a modern, well-equipped primary health care clinic designed to cater to a wide range of health needs.
It will feature three triage/treatment rooms with a haemodialysis space, a dental suite, optometry, X-ray rooms, and two rooms for those returning from hospital or requiring day care.Onsite will also be a new Mental Health & Addictions service that will see health support the delivery of key primary health clinical services through a collaborative approach.Mōu | About youTo be successful in this role you will:Be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate and post-graduate clinical experience in a range of settingsHave well developed literacy, fiscal, leadership and management skillsBe able to demonstrate your business acumen within a health care settingDemonstrated commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for MaoriAn ability to recognise trends, opportunities and solutions through data collection that will enhance service delivery, accountability, and workforce developmentIf successful, you'll join a high-performing health led team who are dedicated and committed to developing and embedding a Kaupapa Māori based model of care into the heart of health services delivery.The salary for this role is $125,985- $157,543 based on demonstrated skills and experienceApplications close Sunday 4th May 2025Mō mātou | About usAra Poutama Aotearoa is a name that has been gifted to us and is our commitment to improving the oranga and safety of the people, whānau, and that of the communities we serve across the motu.
