Butchery department Manager - Hamilton
We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable candidate for the Butchery Department Manager position to autonomously manage the day-to-day operations of our busy butchery section.

You would be required to perform the following duties, not limited to:
- Oversee and manage daily operations of the butchery department, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of product quality and hygiene.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of all meat products, conducting regular stocktakes and ordering as needed.
- Source and liaise with meat suppliers, negotiating pricing and delivery terms to ensure optimal value and quality.
- Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring freshness, accuracy, and compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure correct pricing, labelling, and attractive display of all butchery items.
- Monitor product rotation, shelf life, and wastage, applying stock control principles.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and ensure food safety and occupational health standards are strictly followed.
- Supervise butchery staff, allocate duties, and support training and development needs.
- Prepare a wide variety of meat cuts, marinated and value-added products to meet customer preferences.
- Provide excellent customer service, assist customers with product selection, and respond to inquiries and feedback.
- Identify and respond to changing customer demands and trends in meat preferences.
- Work collaboratively with store management to contribute to overall sales performance and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in promotional activities, seasonal offerings, and upselling strategies to boost department revenue.
- Handle customer concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate financial records including invoicing, daily sales, and wastage reports.
- Ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety regulations within the butchery department.
- Identify opportunities to improve procedures and introduce efficiencies in production, ordering, and display.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all products meet store and customer standards.
- Participate in staff rostering and ensuring adequate coverage for the department.
- Foster a positive team environment by leading by example and encouraging cooperation.

No qualification or prior experience is required—we will provide all the necessary training. This is a full-time role working a minimum of 35 hours per week. We are seeking individuals who are reliable, punctual, and committed to their role unless there is a reasonable excuse.
