We are seeking a highly organised and detail oriented Contracts Manager to join our dynamic team at the Christchurch South franchise of G J Gardner Homes , NZ’s most trusted home builder. If you have a passion for contract management, an understanding of council regulations, and a knack for managing building and resource consents, we’d love to hear from you!
Position Overview:The Contracts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with council regulations, and coordinating building and resource consents. You will work closely with the sales, admin and construction teams and contractors to ensure that all contractual documents are accurate and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:- Contract Preparation: Draft, review, and finalise contracts for various projects
- Council Requirements: Manage the submission and compliance process for building and resource consents, working with local councils to ensure all regulations are followed.
- Plan and Quote Verification: Collaborate with estimators and project managers to review project plans and quotes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual terms.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects meet the required building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the main point of contact between clients, contractors and local authorities to address any issues related to contracts and consents.
- Contract Administration: Maintain accurate and organised records of all contract-related documents and correspondences.
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role within the construction or related industry.
- Strong understanding of building and resource consents, council regulations, and legal contract terms.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including councils and contractors.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing contracts and consents for building projects.
- Knowledge of local council requirements for resource and building consents.
