1:1 Support Staff – Part Time (Supported Living) - Christchurch
Wednesday to Sunday
- 56 hours per fortnight
- Avonhead, Christchurch
- $23.99 - $29.10 per hour (depending on qualifications)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Staff to work with a young adult with a learning disability. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life by helping them achieve their personal goals and become more independent.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in developing budgeting skills.
- Support in building and maintaining friendships.
- Teach and enhance baking and cooking skills.
- Help navigate local transport options and bus routes.
- Aid in creating a CV and searching for full-time employment.
About the Client:
The client is in their early 20s and has recently moved out of home for the first time. They are new to the area and eager to learn and grow. Your role will be crucial in helping them adjust to their new environment and achieve their goals.
Requirements:- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the client's needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in working with individuals with learning disabilities is preferred but not essential.
- A full New Zealand driver's licence.
- Ongoing development opportunities. If you haven't already completed NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2 and 3, we will support you to complete these.
- Paid time off the floor to complete your fully funded First aid certificate in addition to Safe Manual Handling, Falls Prevention and Dysphagia training.
