Situated in the heart of Christchurch this hotel is part of a privately owned group with locations all over New Zealand. We are on the lookout for an experienced and friendly manager to oversee the food and beverage operations within the hotel.You will work with a small experienced team under the direction of the Food and Beverage Director, across the inhouse restaurant, room service and functions.
Who are you?
Ideally you'll come with a F & B supervisory background from within a hotel environment where you have lead and inspired a small team. You'll have a hands-on management style and you'll thrive in an environment where you get to be a part of the action every day, while there is an admin components to the role, the majority of your time will be spent on the floor with guests and your team. You'll need to be meticulously organised, focused on delivering excellent customer service and foster a supportive work environment. We are looking for candidates who possess all of the following:
- A current Managers Certificate
- Strong F & B knowledge including wine
- The ability to read and understand P & L statements
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of guest service and operational efficiency
- The willingness to train and develop new & existing staff members
- Unrestricted working rights within NZ (no sponsorship or variations of visas)
- Flexibility around working hours - days, evenings and weekends are required
What will I be doing?
This role is an integral part of the Food and Beverage Management team and plays a vital role in shaping our team, culture and operations. Outside of ensuring the seamless flow of venue operations you may also find yourself doing the following:
- Recruiting new employees and conducting on the job training
- Driving F & B promotions
- Supervise and co-ordinate pricing and preparation of beverage menu, wine lists and food menus with the Head Chef / General Manager
- Manage beverage par levels, stock movement and inventory control
- Preparing staff rosters and authorising timesheets
- Working with the other departments to identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue
- Respond to guest and staff complaints, inquires and needs
- Holding team briefing at the beginning and at the end of any shifts
