Indian chef North Indian

North Indian chef need to have the ability and skills in all authentic North Indian Dishes/Curries, tandoori dishes, and knowledge of Indian Street food. The position is full-time and permanent with a guaranteed 30 hours.

Job duties may include:

• Preparation and presentation of selected food items
• Should be able to cook traditional Indian cuisines North Indian independently.
• Able to make good estimations of raw material required and the cost involved
• Ordering requests for purchasing
• Planning and preparing menus and help in controlling cost
• Keep the food cost under control
• Discuss with Restaurant Manager/owner of improvements required for the growth of the business
• To preserve the food and freeze them as required
• Follow the maintenance and health and safety issues and meet hygiene
• Delegating and supervising Kitchen staff
• Train and mentor junior staff
• Preparing and cooking authentic North Indian foods and curries as per client requirements
• Expertise in Indian spices, seasoning, and garnishing
• Controlling and adjusting the temperature of the oven and other cooking equipment.

The successful applicant for the position must have:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience and capable of working in a busy environment and knowledge of Indian Cuisine OR relevant qualifications.
• Any qualification in food and safety or cookery would be an advantage.
• Be flexible to work on the weekends / public holidays where required and late closing as and when required
• Be experienced in taking full control of the kitchen.
• Able to pass the criminal and drug check if required

Pay rate $25.00-$30.00 per hour.
