Food Safety Quality (microbiologist)

Food Safety Quality Manager needed on for an on call, casual basis .

Based : West Auckland

• Perform physical, chemical, microbiological and quality checks of raw materials, intermediate and finished products to ensure that the requirements of specifications are met and it conforms to our highest quality and food safety standards
• Monitoring of manufacturing equipment
• Assist in Product Development trials ( when and if required)
• Conduct sanitation verification in processing areas and equipment by swabbing and sampling as needed
• Compile product samples from manufactured batches and conduct in-house lab testing
• Monitor and verify chemical concentration used in processing plant when required
• Report and analyse data
• Ensure hygiene, quality and food safety standards and procedures are adhered to by all staff
• Maintain the company's GMP
• Maintain the lab consumables inventory and good laboratory practices
• Conduct all audit requirements
• Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and well documented
• Calibrating and troubleshooting of technical instruments (milk analyser, pH meter and thermometer)
• Troubleshooting and improvement of production processes
• Support product on hold and release processes

• Tertiary qualification in Science / Food Science.

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Experience/background in food manufacturing and food safety.
• Have a passion for quality system improvement.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well in a team environment.
• You are comfortably building strong relationships at all levels
