About the role:

A Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of an organisation. They are responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and developing strategic plans to expand the company's market presence.

This role involves conducting market research, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams to align business initiatives with company goals. By fostering partnerships, securing deals, and identifying innovative solutions, the Business Development Manager ensures sustainable growth and a competitive edge in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for new business development across the services offered by Fliway Air & Ocean in line with defined KPIs/targets. (This is end to end from developing leads, active call cycles and sales calls, account management, quoting, etc.)
  • Engaging with the Fliway Domestic Sales team to determine cross selling opportunities where applicable.
  • Achieving set revenue targets in line with guidance from the business, and to exceed these targets where possible within the ability of the business.
  • Acting, formulating and presenting Fliway RFQ/RFI responses to the market or customer as required
  • Leading and strengthening the services able to be offered by Fliway Air & Ocean
  • Working alongside the Customer Services Manager and operations team with respect to account management of our customer base including the setting of call cycles.
  • Reporting on New Business Pipeline on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Creating and executing strategic account planning for new and existing customers.

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:00am to 5:00pm in Auckland!!

What you Bring:

  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or a similar role, typically 3-5 years or more within either the Freight Forwarding or Logistics industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client and partner relationships
  • Experience developing and executing business growth strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills- Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
