About the Role
We have a 0.7FTE permanent position available, (working 56 hours a fortnight), within our surgical ward which has a strong Orthopaedic, Gynaecology and Otolaryngology focus in an acute and elective environment.
You will be working across AM, PM shifts rostered Monday to Sunday as follows:

We practice in a collaborative patient partnership model of care to achieve best outcomes for our patients/families and whanau.
As a Health Care Assistant you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one-to-one patient watches and other tasks as directed.

About You
We are looking for an individual with a mature outlook and proven ability to communicate in a clear, considerate manner with genuine compassion.
You will also have the ability to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrate honesty and reliability, and use appropriate initiative.
Experience within the health sector is preferred, but is not essential as full training will be provided.

Qualifications
Essential- Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
- NZQA level 3 qualification (or equivalent)*
- Home Carer Certificate (or equivalent)
- NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, if not previously obtained, is to be commenced once orientations have been attended.
