About the RoleAre you a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist looking for an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment? Join our dynamic and supportive team, primarily working within the core sections of the lab such as Biochemistry and Haematology.
Due to upcoming projects requiring support we are seeking an experienced and dedicated scientist who is prepared to hit the ground running for a fixed-term position of 12 months. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic tests, ensuring quality results, and contributing to patient care in a collaborative setting.
Click here to view the position description. About the ServiceOur laboratory is an integral part of the wider laboratory services at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato, servicing inpatients, outpatients and community patients of the Manawa Taki region.
The laboratory service is situated over five sites, our central laboratory at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton and our satellite laboratories in Tokoroa, Thames, Taumarunui and Te Kuiti hospitals. About Hamilton Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts.
With around 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure centre, Waikato Hospital provides comprehensive hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. As a major teaching hospital with affiliations to the University of Auckland, University of Waikato, and Wintec, it offers a dynamic learning environment and access to research opportunities.
The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities located on the Waiora Waikato Hospital Campus, with both road and air ambulance support.
