We are seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to provide care and companionship for a gentleman who values incorporating Christian faith into his daily life. This role requires someone who is comfortable engaging in Christian faith-based prayer with the service user.

Support work is fun, people-facing, challenging, and very rewarding, and it is also a deeply empathetic journey. It is more than a job; it is an opportunity to provide invaluable support, led by the people you will be supporting.

Responsibilities may Include:

Spiritual support: Be comfortable engaging in prayer, and working in a Christian faith-based environment.

Assisting with personal cares (showering, bathing)
Assisting with household management and meal preparation
Supporting exercise programmes
Assisting with accessing the community
Bowel, Bladder, and Catheter care
Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers

Medication support

Job Location: Tauranga
Employment Type: Part-Time

We offer a range of employment opportunities including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process.

Days of work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.

The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods, depending on the specific needs of the people we support.

You are a compassionate, empathetic individual who values faith-based care and understands the importance of spirituality in a person’s well-being.

You are a calm but confident-natured individual who can demonstrate resilience and understand the challenges of our service users. There are many responsibilities associated with being a support worker which can be challenging and fulfilling.

It is rewarding when you are part of the support that enables a person to live their best lives in the community.

The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites):

  • Previous experience in healthcare would be an added advantage and those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided).
  • Access to your own car and ability to drive Independently (a Full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must.

  • Pay Band: $24.13 - $30.03 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 – hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
