Transport Operations Manager – Auckland

About the Role: This position is based in our Auckland depot and reports to the NZ Transport Operations Manager.
You will lead a fantastic Auckland based team of drivers, dispatch, and yard staff.
Key responsibilities are:- Overseeing the Auckland depot operations
- Manage the out-bound loading of our Interisland transport fleet
- Liaising with sub-contractors to ensure reliability and quality of service
- Lead and mentor the Auckland based team
- Strong health & safety commitment and focus
- Exceeding customer expectations and delivering exceptional service
- Planning and managing vehicle services, VCA, COF, and repairs
- Maintaining and growing excellent customer relationships
- Driving business development
- Communication across all levels of the business
- Proven transport management and/or dispatch experience
- Ability to utilise existing technology and learn new systems quickly and proficiently
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of NZTA rules and compliance
- Sound knowledge of health & safety standards related to the transport industry
- Critical thinker and problem solver
- Sound geographical knowledge of Auckland and New Zealand
- A positive "make it happen" attitude
