Nurse Educator – Surgical Services, Starship Child HealthSenior Nursing rolePermanent, part-time (0.8FTE) positionTe whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityAn opportunity is available for a highly motivated nurse to work as a Nurse Educator. The Nurse Educator will join the friendly and supportive multidisciplinary Surgical Services team in Starship Child Health.The Nurse Educator provides and facilitates education programs that are underpinned with evidence, patient safety and have a strong patient and family/whanau focus.
The role is responsible for the strategic management of workforce development including skill development and technical competency in long term ventilation, dialysis and intestinal failure. The role also contributes to Starship Child Health education development and delivery.Surgical Services covers two inpatient wards (General Surgical/ENT and Orthopaedics) as well as our Day Stay Unit and Outpatient Service.Surgical Services manage children living within the greater Auckland and Northland regions, as well as children with complex paediatric surgical conditions New Zealand wide and for the Pacific Basin.Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important SkillsAs a Nurse Educator you will have strong communication skills and a passion for child focussed care.
