Do you want to play a crucial role in an innovative, patient-centered national service?We are seeking a Senior Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to join our Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), focusing on providing support to women with chronic pelvic pain.
This part-time, permanent role will involve up to 20 hours per week (0.50 FTE), there may be an opportunity for the right candidate to increase or decrease FTE as required, offering flexibility with the option of remote work in addition to hospital and outpatient services.
Based in Auckland, this role will support clinics and provide pre-and post-operative care to women across the North Island.We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to join our team aimed at providing holistic care for women experiencing complications from pelvic mesh implants.You will play a key role in coordinating care and providing support to patients and their whānau, ensuring that each woman receives the best possible treatment options and holistic care.
You will also be part of a team of experienced clinicians, working collaboratively to ensure long-term success and continuous improvement in this service.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe New Zealand Female Pelvic Mesh Service is a new national service delivered from two hubs, Northern and Southern, with Waitematā District being the host for the Northern hub covering all of the North Island.A Inter-disciplinary Team (IDT) approach will coordinate the service delivery for women and their whānau to determine the best possible treatment options whilst linking in with appropriate home based services around the North Island. The service will be staffed by a wide range of medical and allied health practitioners delivering holistic patient centred care for women who have experienced significant complications from pelvic mesh implants and are eligible for free health and disability care in New Zealand, irrespective of their eligibility for Treatment Injury cover with Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC)..For more information on living and working in Auckland click hereAbout youKey Responsibilities:· Assess, manage, and provide treatment for complex pelvic health patient presentations, particularly chronic pelvic pain.· Collaborate with pelvic surgeons (urological, gynaecological, and colorectal), clinical nurse specialists, and other members of the IDT.· Lead service development and quality improvement projects to ensure ongoing service excellence.· Provide patient-centered, evidence-based physiotherapy assessments and treatments.· Facilitate interdisciplinary teamwork, mentoring junior staff and supporting colleagues.· Work autonomously and contribute to the development of systems and processes for successful long-term service delivery.Key Requirements:· A New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current APC.· 5-6+ years of postgraduate experience, including at least 2 years working with complex pelvic health patient presentations.· Extensive experience collaborating with pelvic surgeons, clinical nurse specialists, and multidisciplinary teams.· Proven ability to lead and implement service development and quality improvement initiatives.· Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills.· Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team of skilled physiotherapists and occupational therapists.· Full and clean driver’s license.· The role is based in Auckland to facilitate attendance at mega-IDT clinics and MDM meetings.Benefits:· Opportunities for professional development and clinical expertise growth.· In-house career development with regular in-services, training, and education opportunities.· Supportive and collaborative work environment with a team of experienced clinicians.· Monthly supervision to enhance your professional growth.· Work perks and benefits.Please click here for position descriptionWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
