Women's Services Coordinator
Are you passionate about supporting women and gender-diverse people in practical, compassionate ways? Te Wahi Wahine o Tamaki Makaurau Auckland Women’s Centre is seeking aWomen’s Services Coordinatorto lead our frontline support services.
This role involves coordinating our drop-in, phone and email advice and referral service, managing bookings for our services and community education programme, and supervising our team of amazing tutors, volunteers and student placements.
In this role, you’ll: Provide empathetic support and practical referrals to women in need
Plan and maintain our community education programme, including supporting a team of tutors and placement studentsMaintain strong relationships with community agencies
Manage service bookings and Centre resources
Ensure ethical, confidential, high-quality service delivery
Contribute to the smooth running of the Centre
The ideal candidate will have:
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the philosophy and mahi of the Centre
- An awareness of intersectional feminism and the community sector
- An awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for community groups
- An understanding that trans women are women
- Honesty and transparency
- A strong commitment to confidentiality in regard to client information
- Experience in working with people in an empathic role.
- Proven formal or informal social work, community work, or counselling background
- Good organisational and administration skills
- Computer and word processing skills
- Excellent oral communication skills
- The ability to work with a small group of women in a community-based organisation in a collaborative way
- Skills in self-management including time management, self-motivation, self-awareness, personal organisation and the ability to work unmonitored
- A strong understanding of the ethical issues that may arise when working with women and the ability to self-monitor so as to maintain healthy and ethical boundaries with all Centre users
- Knowledge of cross-cultural issues and an ability to work cross-culturally
- An understanding of privilege and its impacts on non-mainstream communities

Hours:– 32 hours per week, permanent role based at our Women’s Centre in Grey Lynn.
Wages and conditions:– between $32 and $34 per hour (depending on experience), with an annual cost of living increase on 1 July. We provide a warm working environment and five weeks annual leave.
