  • 710pmHealth New Zealand | Te WhatuOra is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and isdedicated to serving all New Zealanders.About the RoleWe have an opportunity for aHealthcare Assistant to join the team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).As a Healthcare Assistant inICU you will demonstrate responsibility for your own work within the healthcareteam and will complete key tasks as co-ordinated by the Registered Nurse.
You will be reviewing stocklevels and liaising with central supply around back orders.

Some patient caredelivery as well as general cleaning and tidying of the unit will also be partof your role.

  • t mind that the role can be at times physically demanding.About the ServiceOur Intensive Care Unit is atertiary level 3 ICU based in the Waipapa building and currently resourced for25 beds.

We are a multidisciplinary team who see 1,800 patients annually.We have a diverse patient groupand provide care for a variety of diagnoses in both adults and childrenrequiring intensive care, including those following cardio thoracic surgery,neurosurgery, and trauma.About you We are looking for a greatcommunicator with a resilient attitude within our large team and have theability to prioritise your workload effectively.

You will establish andmaintain positive relationships with other members of healthcare teams and actprofessionally at all times.
Ideally you will have experience as a HealthcareAssistant in an acute environment.

Ability to work Monday to SundayStrong communication and interpersonal skills.A high attention to detail and the ability to relate to patients and their families.A good use of initiative and problem-solving skills.Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn.Experience in healthcare would be an advantage but not essential.Ideally experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
